    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Commercial Intern - Speaking to hotel partners on a day to day basis to help them get off Stop-Sell. I make calls and shadow and network with individuals all across the department and other departments. I have to analyze hotel's performance and why they are not on our platform and try discuss and bring them back onto our platform so we can create those relationships and hopefully upsell in the future.

  • I have many of the skills required but now I have solidified them and understood the hotel industry more and got the exposure needed to be a better individual. I have developed more consulting skills and presenting skills across this internship

  • Yes and no. I would of wished the standard to be more higher and for it to be more structured in a sense that we get to do more things or have more exposure as I do see the potential in meeting other people.

  • I strategically spent the first week or 2 networking with nearly a lot of people within the firm and learnt so much that I ended up guiding myself through the project I was assigned too.

  • Best ever and ever and ever. I have worked at different firms before and this must be the best ever.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I did but I wish we got to be more hands on with other tasks. Also there has been a lack of interns socials which wasn't good as the internship I thought would bring us students together and etc. More socials are needed

  • Pick what group in Expedia you want to do wisely, I feel commercial needs more structure to it and more intensity because it felt very laid back and simple
