Overview
As an intern I had to set SMART objectives that I was monitored using throughout the placement. These objectives varied from intent to intern. I had to reach out to people to set up meetings, review documentation, write up a report and present on my project findings
Skills
- Better communication skills - Time management skills - How to write SMART goals
Responsibilities
Yes, I was entirely responsible for a project given to me by my team, and I was also given the responsibility of ensuring I was on track with all my objectives
Support & Guidance
I was given a business mentor, as well as an assigned manager within my team. I was also frequently in conversation with my business coordinator, and all three provided support at times
Culture
Very welcoming! People are open to helping others, the work hours are more flexible(you can start between 8-9am and finish at 4-5pm as a result). My team members would check up on me via the internal communication platform should I be working out of the main office
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed it as I am a motivated individual who takes advantage of all opportunities. I had also been in communication with my business coordinator and team manager prior to starting so I had set my expectations and goals ahead of time
