Overview
I had training for 2 weeks, and now I work on a client project along with another intern. The project is on full stack development, maintaining and adding new features to a website. There are about 5 more people on the team with us; we have daily progress meetings and sometimes have calls with team members who help us work through code reviews and existing features of the project.
Skills
I've gotten much better at using git, especially when it comes to branches, merging and pull requests. I've also learned how frontend development works, especially TypeScript and React. I've also worked with .NET and C# for the backend, and SQL for the connected database. I've also worked on a big website project for the first time and it's really helped me understand how a complicated version of the frontend and backend is set up and how new features are added later.
Responsibilities
Quite a bit - we're working on a project for a longtime client, and our work is being merged into the repository along with all the development going on for that project. That said, there are several people reviewing our code to make sure everything goes right, and it will all be tested before deployment.
Support & Guidance
A lot! We have a mentor assigned to us to help with any questions, and we also have a line manager to help us around the company in general. There are also several people on the project team who help us with any issues or questions we have. Everyone else is also very helpful.
Culture
Really nice! It's very friendly, and I'm starting to remember most of the names by now. I'm comfortable in the office and wish I could stay longer!
Your Impressions
Very much! I loved the work and the company in general.
Yes
Prior experience really isn't a must - the training covers everything - so go ahead and apply!
