Overview
There was a lot of networking, especially at the beginning. Day to day I met new people, shadowed tasks, did independent work such as admin and risk assessments, visited client sites and took part in meetings.
Skills
I developed my interpersonal skills. I learned a lot of industry specific skills such as risk assessments for audit and how to use the software that Deloitte utilises.
Responsibilities
I was given a lot of responsibility during the internship. Responsibility is given at Deloitte to individuals who make it known that they are eager and hard working.
Support & Guidance
Support was there whenever I needed it, and from a variety of stakeholders.
Culture
The culture was great. There are various society’s and groups to join. I felt comfortable socialising / asking for help from all members of the team including partners. The offices are bright and inspiring.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed it a lot. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of volunteering initiatives and socials and societies. I feel as though I got fully involved.
Yes
Be yourself - Deloitte cares a lot about this. It is always obvious when you are acting as someone you’re not. Have a personality outside of work and studies. Do work and studies well. Study your role before you apply for it so you know how to cater your skills and experience to the application.
