The Role
It was a great environment to work in; there was always something going on and lots of friendly faces.
Much more so at the end of the scheme - I feel that we had a chance to build up a relationship; that's why having 3 weeks is better.
My supervisor was always there to lend a hand or explain anything I was challenged by.
Some really hectic days, some slower days - but never bored!
Far more that I had expected.
Some fantastic legal research training - I have done UK legal research for 2 years, and hadn't been doing i right!
The Company
Hard working, serious, but friendly at the same time. Everyone would always say hello to each other!
There was a great schedule, and I felt like I knew what I was doing. The socials were brilliant, there was a good introduction to the whole firm and not just the department that I was sitting in. We were introduced to all the people who we would need help from (the Knowledge team) at the beginning, and given essential skills. It was fantastically organised. The HR team did a great job. Perfect.
I felt valued, and as if the Nabarro wanted me to succeed. Being given research and IT training, as well as the opportunity to network and meet future and current trainees at social events, I felt that Nabarro couldn't have done more to make me part of the team, given the shorter space of time.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Healthcare from home
Everyone on the scheme is really brilliant, and I could see any of them fitting in - that's why it's so hard to guess! Fingers crossed, though...
The Culture
Everyone was up for a good night out, and we had quite a few! Between the organised socials and ones that just 'happened' after work, I spent most evenings with Nabarro or the other students on the scheme.
The center of London's never going to be cheap, but it was good for what it was. Living was expensive - but I chose a place close to work, so I didn't have to catch the tube or pay for that.
Good bars, pubs and restaurants. Plenty of other nightlife around, as well, if you wanted that.
We had a lot of socials, which were great. It would have been good to experience pro bono activities - whilst I didn't get a chance to do so, some of the other students did and said that they really enjoyed it.
