Overview
It involves being on called with your internal team and the client, working on client projects, making powerpoints, or working on excels or taking meeting minutes. When I am not working on client work I do professional or business development which could involve bids or training to help the firm with work and increase your knowledge.
Skills
I have developed my Microsoft skills significantly I can now put together a client ready powerpoint. I have also developed my business language, I am now able to confidently write emails that will go to partners and client knowing I am using the correct language and getting my point across. I have also developed my skills in talking to clients and developing that relationship with them, this has also increase my industry knowledge.
Responsibilities
I have been given a significant amount of responsibility, owning parts of client deliverables, taking client calls on my own. In my business development I have also been able to increase my responsibility by leading calls with very senior members of the firm including partners, developing internal processes and having responsibility for internal decks and training that goes out to the wider firm.
Support & Guidance
I received lots of support you are given two points of direct support but then people on projects are happy to help and the network you build people are always happy to step in and help you when needed. You are always able to talk to new people and get their guidance on how they think you should be doing things, its a very welcoming environment.
Culture
It is really positive people are lovely and are always there to help you when need and will take the time to have conversations with you and like to meet new people even really junior members of staff.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my placement I feel like I learnt lots and was given many opportunities to try new things. They people also made it very enjoyable as they were wanting me to develop and grow.
Yes
Don't overthink it, Deloitte hire all different types of people they want to see you have a personality and are not a robot. They like different, and have a very diverse employee base, so just be you and if it works out it works out.
