Overview
Morning meeting, conversations with source, writing and editing feedback from TLs, crunching data, making charts, finding leads, pitching stories, meeting with senior newsroom leaders
Skills
- presenting data, - writing and editing - pitching! - identifying non-stories - getting around PR lingo
Responsibilities
Yes - trusted with big stories from the beginning!
Support & Guidance
Regular 1:1s, meetings with BCs - but could have been made clear that a lot of responsibility falls on interns to seek out feedback
Culture
Collaboration and communication is definitely encouraged, which was great. Atmosphere was always warm and friendly, though still professional
