    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Working within the Global Employee Operations department as a Desktop Technician and Service Desk rep to troubleshoot and resolve varying IT issues for global employees of the company. Requires strong collaboration and communication skills as well as good problem solving skills to learn about and overcome a variety of different and technical IT issues. There are also opportunities within this role to learn from and shadow other teams within Employee Operations department

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was given a very good level of responsibility. I was required to be proactive in reaching out to users and resolving their IT issues. The team were incredibly supportive and this provided me with great reassurance because I always knew they would be there to help me if I had any issues or queries or was struggling when supporting a user. I was also responsible for carrying out projects and presenting the results in multiple meetings with senior colleagues.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I received a very high level of support and guidance. The team were always willing to answer any questions I had and were always looking out for me to make sure I understood any tasks at hand. As a result, this helped me to settle in and significantly boosted my productivity.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The corporate culture is incredible. It is highly collaborative and everyone is so friendly. It is very easy to reach out to people and have a chat with anyone to learn more about their work. Not only in the London office but in Bloomberg offices across the World. This made shadowing very straightforward to organise. There are so many collaborative events taking place to meet more colleagues and expand my network. A very positive atmosphere.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I absolutely loved my internship here. The opportunities to learn, meet new people, and grow professionally are never ending. I had a great team to learn from and all the interns were amazing. I have made some very important connections from this internship. I really enjoyed the role at hand and also really enjoyed the volunteering opportunities. And, of course, the office in London is incredible! Such a pleasant place to work. I am very grateful for this opportunity.
