Overview
We did two placements of one month each. Firstly, I was on the government desk, writing up daily speeches and data releases, and working on longer projects which involved data analysis and reporting. Secondly, I joined the metals team, monitoring prices, writing regular updates, and typing up analyst research
Skills
Yes! I learnt how to identify the most important part of a story, how to write in the Bloomberg style, how to pitch and talk to analysts. It was a great learning experience
Responsibilities
Yes! I was surprised how much I was trusted with right from the start of the internship. It was very much a case of: jump in and learn on the job
Support & Guidance
Lots. We had weekly meetings with the programme leads, daily check ins with editors and my direct boss, and constant access to a training team
Culture
Very professional but welcoming and friendly
Your Impressions
