Overview
We pick up tickets, code (fullstack) to create a feature, peer review, QA test.
Skills
I learnt a lot about how an Agile workflow is supposed to be. I learnt a lot about git version controls, react and my coding skills have improved a lot! I feel like I am able to write clean and precise code now!
Responsibilities
Although our trainers assign us tickets, we are fully responsible of implementing them and I am glad that we also get to review our teammate's code and improve the quality together!
Support & Guidance
We had a 2 week bootcamp so we learnt some basic skills at the very first. And along us working on the project, we also improve as we work and trainers give us really useful suggestions on both code and our career path, they make sure we don't work overtime too. There is also a mentorship system which makes sure we are doing well mentally and that we are enjoying what we are doing!
Culture
I absolutely love the company culture, including the free breakfast we got, the high-quality but affordable (almost cheap) lunch meals we get, the fun morale events like boardgames, volleyball, sword-fighting. And everyone is really encouraging and nice to work with!
Your Impressions
It is the best internship I have ever had, had no idea that internship could be this fun and meaningful.
Yes
Softwire cares about problem-solving skills and your potential more than your initial coding knowledge. So do not worry even if you are not 100% familiar with coding!
