Overview
Worked within the company's EMEA Finance Shared Service Centre. Responsibilities included standard journal preparation and posting, intercompany transactions, balance sheet reconciliations, internal controls testing, budgeting, cash management and other ad-hoc tasks. My time was split between tasks which were general accounting, cash management or intercompany oriented.
Skills
- Excellent time-management skills - Much greater understanding of MS Excel - Competency with several different ERP systems - Confidence in communicating with a variety of internal finance / non-finance stakeholders - Improved understanding of financial reporting under US GAAP

Yes, from the outset the Financial Reporting team gave me significant responsibility and my responsibilities continued to expand over the course of the year.

There was plenty of guidance and support throughout the course of the internship. This was both in a technical capacity and with respect to professional and personal development.
