Overview
All of us dedicatedly worked on one project throughout the 10 weeks. I was responsible for automating the acquisition of a certain document type by building an ETL pipeline. This required understanding the Bloomberg tech stack (which is very particular to Bloomberg). I had to understand the various components available for the pipeline. Since I was working with a new acquisition method that even my team wasn't familiar with, it required communication with many engineering teams.
Skills
Yes, building ETL pipelines, project management, etc. - skills that I had not developed before the internship.
Responsibilities
Yes, especially with figuring out the new tools. I was also engaged in other projects such as building a package to help my team with a commonly used functionality.
Support & Guidance
Adequate
Culture
Absolutely amazing. So many coffee chats and very warm people who are not engaged in a cut-throat competition. Instead, everyone grows collaboratively.
