The Role
This placement was very enjoyable. This was because the placement was wekll structured and this ensured a wide variety of experiences were available to vacation students. All colleagues were also very friendly and this was also invaluable to the experience as a whole.
All colleagues were welcoming, approachable and friendly.
Could ask colleagues for advice and guidance over work and tasks delegated from supervisors at any time. Also felt that could ask any questions regarding law and the company as a whole at any time.
There was a relatively constant supply of work, although there were periods when, due to the nature of the department, work levels could rise and fall unexpectedly.
I was given relatively good levels of responsibilty in terms of individual tasks assigned to me, being answerable to my trainee and supervisor at all times.
The skills and experience I was able to develop during this placement will prove to be invaluable in the future. The placement helped to clarify that commercial law is definately the direction in which I wish to take my studies in the future.
The Company
The atmosphere was friendly and approachable but without compromising on work and concentration levels. There was very much a team spirit in the office which apppeared to be crucial in terms of the success of the department and company as a whole.
The placement was very well organised and structured with a timetable of the placement being given to all students on the first day. This therefore gave each day a structure and allowed us to see what the placement would be like as a whole.

Company Parties/Events
The future prospects within the organisation are very appealing in terms of the potential of a training contract. Interviews for such contracts were held during the placement and I decided that due to my experience I would very much like to work for the company in the future, once I have completed my studies.
The Culture
There were two nights organised for vacation students, all trainess who attended were very friendly and welcoming and willing to answer any questions that may not have been able to be answered before.
The company is based in the centre of Birmingham and this therefore provides many opportunities and places to socialise as a whole.
There was a very strong corporate responsibilty dpeartment which encouraged participation were posssible. There were also some sporting activities such as netball put on offer to students who were available to participate.
