    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • As an intern, you generally have the role of a trainee lawyer, assisting lawyers where appropriate. This could consist of drafting ancillary documents, proofreading, legal research, taking minutes and much more.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • Developed general IT skills, and gained proficiency in all Office Apps. Also developed legal research skills, and gained confidence using Lexis and Practical Law. General social / networking skills also improved by virtue of the sheer number of people you meet day to day.

  • I was given a large amount of responsibility from the outset, but surprisingly, this increased even more once I showed proficiency in my work.

  • All the supervisors were lovely and on hand to answer any questions. If they were busy, the wider team was always happy to lend a hand.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Everyone was incredibly welcoming and made an effort to get to know me as an individual. This made it really easy to to get involved in their work as a genuine connection had been formed.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to RPC
  • Definitely make sure to be yourself in the interview as it's something they truly value. Be genuine! Also having a strong knowledge of RPC and where their strong (insurance) is helpful.
