Overview
My role was akin to starting as a graduate trainee chartered surveyor. Tasks varied but were mainly research centred, finding and complying information. I would also accompany my mentor if they attended any meetings or had any work to do out of the office. Every day tended to be quite varied for me, with a good balance between desk work in the office and work out the office.
Skills
I have learnt to be more proficient on excel. I have developed my research skills. The internship was also a good opportunity to develop interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
I was given responsibility for finding and compiling information.
Support & Guidance
The support and guidance received was great. It felt like there was always someone who was willing to answer your questions - no matter what they be.
Culture
The company culture was incredibly welcoming and friendly. Everyone seemed willing to give up their time to help and to include the interns.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my internship. I enjoyed working within my team, the work I was asked to do and getting to know the company.
Yes
Have a genuine willingness to learn and curiosity about what Knight Frank do. You do not need to know everything about property but you should be open to learning about it. Be personable and friendly, property is a people based business so this is really important.
