Overview
9 week rotational shadowing to different areas within the sales department. Each week we got set different tasks to complete with the different people, and then on the Thursday we'd present our findings, work, and insights to the relevant people. This was to help us prepare for our final 45 minute project presentation at the end of the internship. Day-to-day workload varied dependent on day/week
Skills
Definitely. 1. Sales and Account Management: - Understanding of the Sales Processes (end-to-end sales process, including how the Solution Engineers, BDRs, SDRs and Account Executives all work in tandem) - Account planning - identifying customer needs, tailoring solutions and optimising engagement strategies 2. Presentation and communication Skills - Public speaking confidence has massively been improved via the weekly presentations and the 45 minute AI integration strategy presentation at the end of the internship - Persuasion/Effective communication - through my presentations, conveying strategic insights, proposing recommendations and improvements to some areas. 3. Tech savviness knowledge around databases and relevant buying personas 4. Time Management and organisation - able to manage multiple tasks, such as preparing weekly presentations, contributing to different projects while creating y final 45 minute project for the end of the internship.
Responsibilities
Yes when we were set weekly presentations and for our final project, we were given complete creative freedom to do it however we saw fit. We had the option to refer back to/ask our managers any questions at any time if we were stuck or confused on anything. Understandably, we weren't given any client facing responsibility, as we weren't trained or fully equipped to deal with client facing calls/questions.
Support & Guidance
Lots. We had direct managers, an overarching intern director, that we had weekly/bi-weekly catch ups with, and then had a lot of support/help from anyone and everyone in the office - everyone was super kind, easy to talk to, and there never felt like there was that sort of hierarchy of superiority that there usual is in some office environments - I could really talk to anyone.
Culture
Amazing! It completely lived up to its expectations. I know Redgate pride themselves on their compnay culture, and they really should. It has been such a lovely experience working with them this summer.
Your Impressions
Loved it! and if Redgate ever open a London office, I'd be keen to come back in a heartbeat...! Thank you all for the time and support
Yes
Do it! It was such a valuable experience and I learnt so much. Be prepared to immerse yourself into the world of databases and don't be overwhelmed at the start if you think you are out of your depth - everyone does (apparently!). The company itself is such a pleasure to work for and there are so many added copay benefits that really make a difference. If you are nervous to experience your first corporate job/office life, then Redgate is definitely a place to start, as it is such a welcoming company to work for!
