Overview
On a daily basis - My role as a 360 recruiter involves me speaking to both candidates and clients. On the candidate side I was involved from day 1 calling candidates, interviewing them and creating CVS to send out to clients and jobs we had on. On the client side this is where business development occurs - Hence I'm calling clients to get meetings with them to build relationships so should they have a vacancy now or in the future they come to us first as they have already met us.
Skills
Definitely built my confidence over the phone and in person meetings especially when I'm calling CFOs or FDs to try build a relationships with them as clients it means you need to learn quickly what your saying for different scenarios. I've also learnt new terms as personally I have never worked in Finance before so had to understand and learn a whole different sector to be able to have those conversations with both clients and candidates. However, my team has been so helpful in guiding me what I need to know and pointers for what to say.
Responsibilities
Definitely, I have my own recruitment desk and area in which recruit for. I am responsible for finding my own candidates and getting them interview ready. I am also left accountable for finding roles and speaking to clients to get roles on to put our candidates in. On day 1 I was already making those calls, scheduling meetings and putting out job adverts. I have always felt part of the team and involved in everything that goes on.
Support & Guidance
I had my manager who would provide me with KPIS, targets, and how to structure my day. So I know exactly what to expect and to be doing at all times. My manager and the whole team were always on hand any time I had a question or needed guidance I always received help and support. Throughout my time at Hays, there was many training sessions to teach you about each aspect of recruitment and not just your recruitment desk which means you have knowledge of the compnay as the whole and not just your role. This was really helpful as can see what everyone does and what you want to do.
Culture
Everyone is really friendly and very inclusive environment. Everyone in the team is really bubbly which made my whole time here really enjoyable knowing my team is outgoing and good socials.
Your Impressions
I have thoroughly enjoyed my placement and will be sad to leave as I have had such a good time here and learnt a lot!
Yes
Recruitment is all based on personality - the job involves you talking to people all day whether that's candidates, clients or your team. So you need to be friendly, confident and bubbly always helps. It is also very target driven so you need to be able to work under pressure when needed.
