Overview
I am working as a Scientific Computing Graduate. Graduates typically experience 4 projects within the department and one 3 month project in another department. My current project is working on a tool to demonstrate how real SOC works. This includes multiple components and technologies to give users an idea of the how the SOC in institution is deployed.
Skills
Yes, when i started as a beginner i had no experience in developing technologies. I was just limited to theory learning. But I have learned a lot and I have the best support i could not have even thought of enabled me to work in with different technologies, languages and troubleshooting issues.
Responsibilities
Yes, there are tonnes of projects that a graduate can choose to work on during his rotation and the amount of work involves much learning and responsibility that you can grow without having to too much worried about the deadline.
Support & Guidance
I have been allocated a separate line manager for each project which have weekly meetings to see the progress and the support I needed. The support is always just one slack message away.
Culture
The atmosphere is generally supportive and collaborative. Everyone is encouraged to enhance their skills and get the training the need.
Your Impressions
I have enjoyed every bit of it.
Yes
