Machine Learning Engineer, Recommendation Review

I worked within the video recommendation team, focusing on improving existing machine learning models, running experiments to assess impacts on user metrics, and engineering work (for example, to develop new features).

I've developed a lot of technical skills that relate to working with and developing deep recommendation models, as well as understanding how machine learning models are deployed in industry.

I was given ownership and responsibility over my own project, as well as given the freedom to explore various ways to improve existing models and directly interact with production code.

Everyone on the team is happy to respond to any questions I have very quickly - I never found myself lacking support and guidance on my work.

The team culture in the London office is quite relaxed, with a good amount of freedom to work in the way that allows you to contribute best. Our team was quite sociable and the general atmosphere is very friendly.

I enjoyed my internship quite a bit more than I was expecting, with the general work environment, socials, and benefits being a huge bonus on top of the development of my technical skills.
