    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Making an internal web tool iteratively (tasks divided into tickets, sprints). Attend daily stand-ups, groom tasks, 1-1 meetings with team members, company employees, mentor and TL to share feedback and learn about the company. Researching internal tools for building applications, reviewing and improving code.

  • Skills related to internal tools, how they interact and how to connect your applications to existing BB services. Processes on how to deploy, the environments, and access controls. I learnt more about React, and connecting it to a Kafka service.

    Responsibilities

  • Yes, I was responsible on choosing the next goals and milestones for the project, the way it is organized and actually built. The contents and code decisions, as well as design solutions were mainly my responsibility.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • A had great support from my mentor, TL, team and larger team too. Mentor and TL had great guidance in terms of figuring out how the things I am doing relate to the team and the company, and guiding on the existing services and solutions and what would be best for a specific scenario. The HR were very supportive during intern activities, overall it was great.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The culture really encourages collaboration, everyone is very open and easy to connect with. People readily talk about their experiences in teams, what are the responsibilities, so I could easily learn how teas interact with each other and what their work means for the company.

  • I really enjoyed, the project matched my interests, my mentor and TL were very supportive, larger team were supportive and showed interest in what I am doing. Events organized showed company culture and encouraged networking and collaboration
