    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • yes i have been tasked with fully leading a research and development project and helped with others projects in the decision making. i would independently contribute during teams meetings as i would work independently. Took some lead on part of a larger radiation project.

  • I have received lots of support from my team and wider office. The early careers team is also really supportive and want me to do well in my university work. I feel confident I can ask for help when i need it.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The company culture varied across different offices. I found my office to be more relaxed than others in terms of dress code. Everyone is chatty and the whole office spoke to each other. people would ask about weekend/evening plans and offer suggestions to those who are new to the area. The company was very keen to support personal development and really invested in the placement students and graduates.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I really enjoy my internship. everyday was a but different and there was flexibility for me to pick my own hours and work from home when I needed to. The work was interesting and generally really impactfull on the business. I was also able to work across multiple teams.

  • Make sure you know about the business before your interview. Make the cover letter specific to the company and don't panic if you don't know the answers to the technical questions.
