Overview
The Taster Day was a great introduction into what the Teach First Training programme would involve. It was a women in leadership session so had multiple talks from inspiring women and some who were alumni of the Teach First training programme. There were sessions about learning key teaching skills as well as how to network well and efficiently.
Skills
I have learned Networking skills both in person and online through LinkedIn. I also learned some lesson planning skills which will be very useful. Additionally, I learned second hand some resilience skills through listening to the inspiring women in leadership speakers.
Business Insight
Was very interesting as it allowed me to evaluate whether the training programme is something I would like to take part in and I am positive I would like to since attending the taster day. Additionally, I was able to understand the support networks within the Teach First company and I understand they are a supportive and welcoming business.
Culture
The culture was very friendly and supportive. The people in charge of the taster day were welcoming and also had lots of information about the programme for when questions were raised.
