People Services Team - Work Experience Review

During my time with the People Services team, I gained valuable insights into the world of human resources and people management. My role involved shadowing other colleagues whilst they completed a variety of tasks, including recruitment processes, onboarding new employees and administrative processes.

I gained a solid understanding of Human Resources principles, including recruitment, onboarding and performance management. I also improved my communication skills as my role involved many written and verbal interactions, for example, addressing employee queries by providing clear and concise responses. My work experience also allowed me gain an insight into the organisation skills that are needed for this role as it involved multiple tasks and responsibilities, such as handling employee records and coordinating training sessions.

Gaining insight into the overall business and the variety of roles within it gave me a really valuable and comprehensive overview of how different departments work together to achieve organizational goals.

As my work experience involved working with The People Team, it was really nice to work in a collaborative environment where everyone supported each other and worked towards an organizational goal. I also observed an extremely supportive and inclusive environment where every colleague was valued, this was reflected through open communication and teamwork.

I really enjoyed my insight, that much so that after completing my work experience in earlier this year, I returned to the company for a second opportunity to gain further work experience.
