Given a 9-week overview of the company including its various functions and opportunities available. Participated in various projects utilising communication, teamwork and presentation skills. Conducted technical research in an area of interest. Allows for wider domain awareness.

Exceptional support given by facilitators and staff. Students will enjoy an open, welcoming and respectful working environment with the chance to ask questions and learn freely. Excellent professional and personal support offered by task and line managers.

6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I greatly enjoyed the placement. The opportunities presented by the placement with regard to personal and professional development, in conjunction with a positive environment filled with knowledgeable and experienced people has made for an exceptional placement experience which I whole-heartedly recommend.

8. What advice would you give to others applying to AWE

Be proactive and engage with the placement. Nobody expects you to be an expert when applying so focus on simply answering the questions you are asked. Do some background research. During the placement, always ask questions to clarify and expand your wider domain awareness.
