    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Assisting with administrative roles and shadowing viewings. Speaking with contractors, landlords, tenants and potential clients. Working on a project throughout the internship for a presentation at the end. Helping to run various social media accounts.

  • I learnt all about the real estate market, how to stand out within a highly competitive market such as the one in prime central London, and how to be client facing - balancing the needs and competing interests of prospective clients, landlords and existing clients.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Due to the nature of the clients my responsibility could only be limited. However, through the training and support of my colleagues my responsibility increased. As a result I became more confident and learnt more everyday about how the role truly works.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I received fantastic support from my team and the wider office. I shadowed and worked with the lettings department, sales team and the super prime lettings team in SW&HOCO. Within my own team - my constant questions were always answered with a smile, no matter how busy they were.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Very pleasant - a particular highlight was the KF cricket match which was a fantastic opportunity to meet new people and relax with other interns.

  • Be open to learn, in a fast-paced environment - don't go in thinking you know it all ... because you don't. Most importantly, enjoy it and ask as many questions as you can.
