Overview
Helped Knight Frank build their own in-house supply data set for their upcoming 2024 Healthcare Development Opportunities Report. This task involved extensive quantitative research. Supported the business in entering the highly profitable dental valuation market by creating a detailed market overview of the Dental Valuation Market 2024 to be used in an upcoming valuation report. Attended multiple valuation inspections alongside RICS-accredited colleagues, assessing square footage, staffing supply/ rotas, home capacities, and property conditions for upcoming valuation reports on behalf of vendors.
Skills
Developed my ability to collect and present quantitative data in Microsoft excel. I also had to get in contact with care providers, which enhanced my commutative skills and provided me with increased knowledge of the healthcare sector. I was also Introduced to some of knight Frank’s own software, developing basic competency’s on platforms such as power BI.
Responsibilities
During my 6 weeks working at Knight Frank I was given increasing levels of corporate responsibility. This initially started with data collection for an upcoming data report on existing care homes in the UK, and by the end of my contract I was given sole responsibility of writing up a background report on the current dental valuation market.
Support & Guidance
I received considerable guidance and support during my internship, with most of my colleagues within the healthcare team coming into the office at least 2/3 times a week. The consultancy team who I was specifically working with also provided continuous support for the tasks they set me to do, offering in person explanations as well as practical demonstrations.
Culture
Extremely friendly company culture. Very welcoming and inclusive, letting me get involved with social and networking events across the coming. My colleagues respected me like any other member of staff, involving me in tasks ranging from reports to property inspections.
Your Impressions
I not only learnt considerable amounts about the luxury healthcare sector and the functionings within it that I had little to no awareness of before, but I also learnt a lot about the corporate structuring of knight Frank and the various business divisions within the company. Overall I had a fantastic experience working for the company, which not only reinforced my desire to work in real estate, but showed me that Knight Frank is the company that I want to work for.
Yes
Get involved in as many aspects of the bussiness as you can. Go out and meet people, and don’t be afraid to go to social events. Get some work experience first, it puts you in very good stead.
