    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • I worked as a Capital Markets intern within a national team for a specific asset class. On a daily basis I would attend several meetings (client meetings, bidding meetings, team meetings, networking); produce client materials (brochures, maps); and create materials to assist JLL (proformas, residual valuations via Excel and Argus). Alongside working for my team, I also had to work on a group project with the other interns.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • Both. The majority of new skills I have learnt are associated with applications e.g. use of Edozo, Argus Developer, Excel. Yet, I also learnt how to negotiate and communicate with other agents for industry specific information.

  • Yes, in the sense that I created lots of client materials that were distributed to agents and clients, I also generated lots of materials for JLL that were routinely used. Additionally, I spoke many agents for comparables and sat in on meetings. However, I rarely attended in person inspections/ meetings.
