    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • I rotate through 3 departments: Talent Acquisition, Marketing & Communications, and Talent Development. In TA I own application processes, source candidates and help plan and run events. In marketing & coms I assist with internal communications, job & content postings, and arrange merchandise. In Talent Development I support programme & project delivery, process adhoc training requests, and coordinate the core curriculum training.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I’ve learnt how to use many industry specific platforms such as LinkedIn Recruiter, Workday and HubSpot. I have also learnt industry skills in marketing, recruiting, and customer/candidate experience through posting content, screening resumes and coordinating interviews and training sessions.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was given lots of responsibility during my placement year and given my own projects to run and own from start to finish. I was initially given roles in other people’s projects to build my confidence until I was ready to take on my own.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I received plenty of support in the form of training and gradual introduction to responsibilities. I also received lots of support from my mentor and manager with fortnightly and monthly catch ups respectively. These catchups were often more frequent and I was able to have these more frequently if I wanted.

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Amazing, everyone is so friendly and willing to help you with any questions. Great benefits including free lunch, casual dress code and 30/35 days annual leave

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I throughly enjoyed my placement on both a personal and professional level. I gained valuable skills and experiences which will set me up for my future career. I also gained great connections with my team and had amazing experiences throughout the year such as the events, team socials and company wide parties.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to G-Research
  • There is high levels of competition when applying to G-Research. I’d advise making your cv/linkedin as clear and job specific as possible to display your relevant skills and experiences. Show your personality and interest in the team you are joining and what they do when interviewing.
