Overview
Collating data and creating reports about them in a way that is more interpretable by the team and anyone who needs to use it. Mine was more focused on OPEX and the spend of the UK & IRL teams on their company cards
Skills
Learnt how to use PowerBI and developed my excel skills
Responsibilities
I was able to manage a small area of the business and also the reports that I prepared went straight to management and didn't need to be checked by my manager first.
Support & Guidance
I received support whenever I needed it. Our placement coordinator was great especially when I needed to take time off for bereavement. The coordinator and my team were very understanding at this time and I was able to take the time off when I needed it. Aside from that my manager helped direct me to places where I could develop my knowledge, like excel skills.
Culture
Really good culture and atmosphere, the people there were easy to talk to and seemed to really care about you and your future prospects.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my placement, it was a great way to develop my soft skills as well as use my business knowledge in an actual role. Definitely eye opening and I think it will really help me in my final year
Yes
To apply even if you don't feel you have the skills, then place more emphasis on you as a person as long as they believe they can train you up to be able to do the role. Also to get involved in many other things other than the role to make the most out of it, there are plenty of opportunities for any interests
