Completion of reports and reviews with the data received from these tests. Communicating with all parties involved to get this done efficiently.
Skills
I have gained a lot of confidence as a result of this role and developed skills in communication, critical writing, patience, problem solving and more. Overall, I walk away knowing what is expected of me in an environment like this and how people work and communicate.
Responsibilities
Yes, a lot. At times I was the only member of the team on site. As a result I was responsible for the base business duties of the team as well as anything that came up during this period. I had to make decisions and take actions myself, following what I had learnt but also my gut. Responsibilities included completing testing in order to release thousands of pounds worth of product and advising other teams.
Support & Guidance
My team were amazing throughout the entire year. Frequent catch up meetings about work and professional development were great but I also received help and support from a personal point of view and was able to develop and create relationships with my team. This helped when things got tough I was able to easily ask for help and quickly get back on track.
Culture
I loved the culture and atmosphere on site. I was able to work confidently and push myself knowing I had the support around me. There were numerous occasions where I was able to work with larger parts of the business and see this too. The mission and passion the business has for helping people is aligned with my views and so this made it easy to relate to others also. There were frequent community days and also team building days where we were able to get to know everyone.
Your Impressions
It flew by. I think this shows how great it was. I was always busy and always being tested and challenged. My role required me to complete duties periodically. This allowed me to clearly see my improvements and allowed me to enjoy the challenge of doing bette next time. The support and confidence in me also allowed me to try new things and enjoy this too.
Yes
Put yourself out there and take all the opportunities provided. Get to know your team and work hard with them. There are always opportunities for improvement within the role so use any spare time to suggest ways everyone can develop together. And enjoy it.
