General admin for line manager, organising panels, meetings and testing. Planning and rolling out projects to drive continual improvement, working with other teams in the business. Leaning critical thinking and problem solving skills, applying food industry knowledge learnt in degree and in the placement.
Responsibilities
I have been given a great amount of responsibility, out of a place of trust from my line manager. Being given responsibility of management aspects of the category and taking an active role in supplier visits, such as traceability. Having full responsibility conducting own project by spending 2 weeks with a supplier.
Support & Guidance
I have received a great deal of support through team members who have welcomed me into the technical team so well. I have regular 1-1 meetings with my line manager where I feel comfortable to share any issues I am experiencing or questions I have and can ask for feedback. I am regularly offered opportunities to get involved with other categories and teams to support my development.
Culture
The company culture is open and welcoming, with a focus to empower and develop apprentices and undergraduates as equals by giving opportunity. Very friendly and family-feel to the whole team.
Your Impressions
I have loved my placement so far! I have developed in ways I did not predict and had unique opportunities that have grown soft and hard skills. And most importantly enjoyed the people and relationships grown with the other undergraduates and working team.
