Overview
General engineering tasks, working within a team of engineers. Lots of responsibility on subjects varying from design, implementation and mathematical modelling of various scenarios present within the submarine operations. Office work, with various site visits and tours. Regular meetings with the team who were based all around the country, not just in the office I was present.
Skills
Developed skills in general engineering, professional handling and creation of documents which are vastly important to the engineering process behind submarine design. Public speaking and team building was a large aspect of the skills learnt, boosting personal confidence. BAE style report writing and methods to approach a task has been a very useful skill to me, with invaluable experience.
Responsibilities
Large amount of responsibility, where I essentially functioned as another competent engineer in the team.
Support & Guidance
Good support and guidance during the internship. More would have been nice when discussing the prospect of relocating temporarily to the area.
Culture
Very welcoming, friendly and good fun.
Your Impressions
