    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
  • I assisted solicitors with bundling, proof-reading ET3 response forms and drafting emails to the Employment Tribunal. I was also able to attend client meetings and departmental meetings to gain a full experience into what employment law at PM is like. Additionally, I was able to get involved in some group work with my office taking part in a ‘Dragon’s Den’ competition to promote sustainable working.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I developed my teamwork skills working on a group project with fellow interns. I also developed my communication skills, attention to detail and my written skills. Through the vacation scheme, I was able to see how I could use my customer service skills in a legal role and I hope to develop this further.

    Business Insight

  • 3. What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
  • It was great to understand all the different teams that PM has through organised insight talks with solicitors from each team. The talks allowed me to consider where I see myself potentially working in the future which was very helpful. Furthermore, learning about PM as a whole, and the wealth of work they offer was a key reason why I loved the firm.
