Overview
I was responsible for conducting comparable research and writing market commentaries based on my research. I would present my findings to my direct line managers on a weekly basis and write up reports that were reviewed before being sent to the client.
Skills
Absolutely. I learnt about how to conduct in-depth market research with the end goal of being able to correctly value a development that our team was working on. I continued learning how to efficiently work within a new team within the property sector, which was a new experience for me in itself. It was incredible to understand exactly how the residential part of JLL works by conducting daily tasks that the team work on.
Responsibilities
Yes, I was given responsibility to conduct research that went directly to our clients. I also got the opportunity to sit in on client calls to understand how these were conducted.
Support & Guidance
I was so lucky to have Victoria Ogilvie-Hodge as my superior. She taught me all the foundations to beginning my career in real estate. I also had two lovely line managers who guided me through the tasks I was set and made sure I knew exactly what I was doing. I am really grateful for their expertise during my 6 weeks.
Culture
I found there was a really good work-life balance at JLL. Everyone was genuinely so warm and welcoming and it felt like such a positive environment in which to learn and grow as a person. I had a very positive experience.
Your Impressions
I absolutely loved it. I am really hoping to get a place on the graduate scheme for next September and am thoroughly looking forward to my final assessment centre. Thank you for everything!
Yes
I would advise to be yourself and show your true personality and your passion for real estate as much a possible. I feel there is a real sense that they would like to get to know you as a person and what you could bring to the team so being able to demonstrate your skills in a happy and positive way is a great start!
