Overview
Role included supporting negotiators by registering applicants, discussing key requirements with them and sending particulars. Office-based tasks also included helping the business support team prepare marketing material such as window cards, and updating property management of any issues/repairs. Organised and carried out viewings in order to generate offers and negotiate deals to successfully let client property.
Skills
Developed communication through outbound calling and regular email contact with prospective tenants. Learning techniques from those around me also taught me effective negotiation skills and how to be more persuasive. Built on existing skills such as time management and prioritisation in order to meet client expectations. Invaluable opportunity to develop understanding of Prime Central London residential property market and regional trends.
Responsibilities
Yes, I was given plenty of responsibility with the opportunity to speak with prospective tenants and carry out viewings from the beginning. I was also able to be involved in the negotiation process when I had generated my own offers.
Support & Guidance
I received a huge amount of support and guidance from those within my team, as well as others within my office and beyond. Knight Frank always encouraged me to reach out to people, and colleagues from across the business were incredibly generous in offering their time and advice.
Culture
My experience of the culture at Knight Frank was a sense of entrepreneurialism where everyone is driven and highly-motivated to succeed. I noticed that employees were team players who offered to help others including those starting out in their careers.
Your Impressions
I hugely enjoyed my work placement with Knight Frank. It was an insightful opportunity to learn a huge amount about the residential lettings sector as well as other service lines offered by a global real estate consultancy firm whilst also developing key employability skills along the way. It was also a great way to network and meet others involved in the industry.
