Overview
My daily tasks were usually assigned by the seniors on my team, and I would interact with my team daily about the agenda for the day. My responsibilities would change daily, such as moving trial balances forward to the next period, receiving and interpreting client data and creating OARs (Overall Analytical Reviews).
Skills
Throughout the internship, I greatly developed my Excel skills. I also developed my teamwork and communication skills, which were critical throughout the internship.
Responsibilities
I was given meaningful responsibility throughout the internship. There was always something else to do, which was appreciated as it meant I was busy throughout the day. I also got the opportunity to visit the client site office with the team during the internship, which was a great experience.
Support & Guidance
The support for the EY internship was great. I was given a buddy, who was my go-to for day-to-day questions. You are also given a counsellor with whom you can chat about more career development-oriented questions. We had three training days at the start, which also was a great help.
Culture
EY has a very warm company culture. It is a very people-orientated firm, and I could feel that walking through the office. They are also very flexible regarding working from home, which I thought was great. Everybody I spoke to was really lovely and willing to offer any help and guidance.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed my Internship. Although it was only four weeks, they packed a lot into it, and I learned so much. I also met some fantastic people and greatly expanded my professional network.
