Overview
I worked within PMO roles and Business Change roles. For PMO, my role involved activities such as status reporting, RAID logs, deliverable tracker, design authority content creation, microsoft project plan creation and upkeep. For Business Change, my role involved supporting in creating a change impact assessment and conducting a thematic analysis for that.
Skills
Applications learned: excel, powerpoint, teams, microsoft project, JIRA, ServiceNow. Skills learned: Effective communication, time management, confidence in speaking, presenting, networking and building connections
Responsibilities
I was surprised at how much responsibility you are given as a junior employee. You get to develop and own numerous pieces as work as well as often being client facing in certain roles.
Support & Guidance
Deloitte's placement programme wasn't great, there was a lot of ambiguity, confusion and sometimes bad planning. A high percentage of placement students spent their first 3-4 months at Deloitte without a project due to poor planning with resourcing. There was also lots of misinformation given around holidays and return offers.
Culture
Deloitte's people are the best. I made so many strong connections and people are so chatty and personable. I felt like I slotted right in right from my first day.
Your Impressions
I spent my first 4 months without a project. This made me extremely dislike my placement and often made me reconsider if I'f made the right choice. However, when I started getting put on projects I absolutely loved it and was so glad I stuck it out. I learnt so much and met some amazing people.

Network, Network, Network! Everything you do at Deloitte is centred around the connections you make. From project opportunities to friendly faces in the office. Had I focussed more on networking from my first day I may not have spent so long without a project.
