The Role
I have really enjoyed my placement and my time within the ESB team. Everyone has been really supportive and I have been given a wide varitey of taks to complete throughout my year.
I recieved very positive feedback from all my team members and management. I was given my own live projects to complete and see through from start to finish.
My managers support can not be faulted, I was put on training courses outside the office, as well as having full training and support from my manager and direct team.
My workload depended on a number of things, especially customer demand as my job was working with the end customer.
I was responsible for projects worth million $ +, but always supported by manager and was responsible for communicating news and production updates to internal and external customers.
I have developed a number of skills, through both training and gaining experience from day to day tasks. I have faced learning curves which will help me to develop in the future
The Company
the amosphere was always good, and I always made sure I had a positive attitude when at work.
from within my department it was well organised and the support i was given from my team could not be faulted, however from a wider cummins perspective and HR there are room for improvement.
Quartly development reviews took place between myself and my manager, however when my manager asked HR who is checking them we where told no one, therefore support from my management and team was excellent however the support from HR to myself and managers is lacking and there is definitly room for improvement. I was also sent on 2 external training programs, one for awareness of products and one on project management to develop my skills and be made aware of in house preferences.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
My manager would like me to come back as a graduate, and this is something I would definatly be interested in.
The Culture
All placement students became really close and had group nights out etc.
I lived at home with parents so I am not sure of the cost of living / renting accommodation but i beleive it is average. night life is standard pub / prices.
Night life is not great, but i have lived in the area my whole life so I knew what to expect.
There where a number of activities / trips organised through the Sports and Social Club
