Overview
I clean the tools and the area while we plan the day. Hannah has a list of things for me on the day which can vary. Normally I am reclaiming clay, discussing ideas about her work and mine. We make her work which varies in scale and glaze and load the kiln.
Skills
I have learnt new skills in ceramics and developed those I already had. We had technical talks about why some things worked and some of the research I did, I can use for myself too.
Responsibilities
At first I was given very simple tasks but then I was given important things to do as well. I felt very valued and like I was trusted there.
Support & Guidance
Hannah was mostly with me, she was doing her own stuff while I did mine but would stop if I needed advice on what I was doing or finished my tasks.
Culture
As it was a ceramic studio it was casual and nice, we would talk about work or our personal lives and I enjoyed being there everyday.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed it so much, I really loved working there.
Yes
As long as you are good at making in ceramics this is a good role, you will improve fast.
