Overview
Everyday was different in my role. I was making purchases when needed, did stock takes, kept Quality documents up to date, created controlled documents using excel, researched on sustainability regulations and presented, made training matrix, automated excel sheets, attended consultant meetings, attended webinars, helped with FSC accreditation and so on.
Skills
I have mostly learnt time management skills, planning skills, and adaptability skills. Having to juggle many tasks, I needed an efficient task management and note taking system.
Responsibilities
I was lucky enough to be given a great amount of responsibility from the start. I have directly talked with customers and suppliers to ensure efficient operation. The projects that I was involved in were crucial for the company to satisfy their customer needs.
Support & Guidance
Everyone is welcoming and willing to go out of their way to help if needed. I felt supported throughout the whole placement year.
Culture
I believe the company has a culture of continuous improvement. They often invest in new technologies to meet the demand in the industry. The general atmosphere is respectful and accepting.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed every aspect of it. This is the most I have learnt compared to any year of my life. Everyone in the company were willing to share their knowledge and help out.
