    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

    • My role included the financial management for specialties including cardiology, Haematolgy and Onclolgy. Ensuring monthly budget meetings with budget holders to discuss run rates and variances in expenditure compared to budget. Ensuring invoices are processed and signed for payment and ensuring invoices are raised where needed. To distribute the budget reports on a monthly basis to budget holders.

    • Brilliant. A very friendly, welcoming and relaxed work environment with a great adopted culture of always learning and mistakes are never permanent.

    • Go for it. Amazing opportunities arise at the NhS shadowing doctors and surgeons to watching surgeries. It’s more than numbers as there is a patient at the end of things.
