Junior Content Producer | Director Review

I would support the company where needed. Some days we would be on location filming commercially or on set filming for in-house projects, other days I would be writing funding applications, editing the work I had filmed previously or writing for a new project.

I developed skills I already had into a professional setting such as people management, leadership, networking, organisation, collaboration and time management as well as transferring many technical skills from theatre into film such as script writing, directing and project management. I also had the opportunity the learn new skills such as videography, lighting, editing, sound design and writing for funding.

All my projects within my placement have progressed to push me and give me more responsibility. I began with shadowing and supporting the rest of the team on set and in-house and ended by producing, directing, writing and editing my own project with support from my mentors.

Everyone on the team was there to support me. I always felt comfortable to ask questions or for them to help me. They took the time to get to know me and understand how I best learn and facilitated their teaching styles to best support my learning.

A very fun and supportive environment from everyone on the team.

I really enjoyed my placement and would encourage anyone who is interested in film to work with the team at CFI MEDIA.

This is an incredible place to develop your skills and put them into practise. It is also a great place to make connections within the industry however, this will not guarantee you a job at this company in the future.
