Overview
My day-to-day basis involved producing and advertising promotional materials for upcoming events via social media, targeted emails and posters across the campus. I was also tasked with keeping track of the attendees and gaining student feedback for any potential improvements or approvals for better experience. Lastly, I was working with other internal placements students for a marketing commercial video to promote the DMU Careers Team and only recently has it gone live on the plasma screens.
Skills
I have developed new skills for content creation and discovered different skills for creative marketing. I have severally improved my communication skills and overcame weak point for doing live presentations by doing a panel talk about overall feedback from a student's perspective.
Responsibilities
I was given plenty of responsibilities through varies tasks that I couldn't do in my first few months of my placement. Examples include: gathering data and compiling into a presentation talk for my superiors, design and produce a commercial video with my fellow placement students and assist in the Career Hub with customer service for students regarding job applications and career opportunities.
Support & Guidance
I received plenty of support from both faculties (4 teams in total) I worked with. The managers and fellow staff members trained me well and gave me lot's of advice and suggestions based on their own experience and critiques.
Culture
Very diverse and welcoming. The company embraced new ideas and opportunities for a potential solution and actively explored the potential whilst following the standard protocols and procedures. The atmosphere was intensive but overall positive and friendly.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed it thoroughly, to experience a proper working environment in an office whilst also participating in varies projects and collaborations with other companies for the same goal - to help students on their career path. The biggest highlight was re-designing some of our resources to fit the latest branding and updating the content to fit the modern expectations.

Don't be afraid to ask questions and explore everything DMU has to offer. From career advice, health guidance and financial assistance. Even when you graduate, you will remain part of DMU and support will be available through DMU Alumni.
