Digital Marketing Assistant Review

I manage the social media accounts on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Youtube and Pinterest. I come up with all the ideas and design the content that is to be posted. I attend shoots and take videos and photos. I edit all the content for social media. I'm also responsible fro the weekly newsletter. I communicate with the director frequently.

I have learnt how to use Mail chimp software. I've learnt lots of skills to do with running a small business, such as budgeting, communication, logistics, advertisement and influencer marketing. Ive also develop existing skills like social media, content design, canva, photoshop, video editing, communication, email etiquette, professionalism and creativity.

I was given a lot of responsibility. As they are a small business it was a very hands on experience. I work directly with the director daily and also get to explore other areas of the business, not just the digital marketing. I am supported well but mainly manage the social media by myself and come up with ideas on my own terms.

Lots of support. The team and lovely and treat me as an equal. The director communicates very well. We had regular meeting solely for performance and to check in on our goals during the internship. They are all genuinely lovely people and I never once felt overwhelmed or alone in my work.

This small business is very welcoming. As there as not many staff, I felt connected with people more easily. The director was absolutely lovely, and I felt she did a good job at protecting me and backing me up on decisions. we worked in a team in that way. Even though all staff are significantly older than me, and half are French, they never treated me as an outsider and were always welcoming to me.

I really enjoyed my placement. I think a small business gives you a unique opportunity to get involved more heavily in all elements of the business. I also felt very connected to the people. I was supported and also got to enjoy gaining experience in the field i'd like to work in in the future. I also liked that even thought they are a small local business, they did pay me a wage. I also got offered a permeant role, which I accepted and am still doing now.
