Overview
I was the H&S undergraduate, and this role involved managing and creating systems around H&S. This was mostly reporting injuries in a database, creating and maintaining a training database, and organising occupational health appointments on site.
Skills
I developed my communication skills, and gained some technical skills, such as using SharePoint, Power Bi, etc.
Responsibilities
Not particularly - the most important task was booking occupational health appointments with an external provider.
Support & Guidance
I received all the help I asked for, but the training was sufficient to get me through most of my daily tasks on my own.
Culture
The company culture was very welcoming, everyone was really patient with myself and the other apprentices and placement students and didn't hesitate to help when asked.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed it, I may return there in the future after my placement is over.
Yes
A lot of the time you are left alone to your own devices, so make sure to ask for extra tasks if you don't have anything to do.
