Answering emails and phone calls, taking bookings, creating quotes and invoices, customer service, café responsibilities, creating and launching events such as seasonal parties/ fundraisers, researching funding opportunities and applying for funding, ensuring the premises is organised and clean, engaging with the community through the sessions run at HQ such as the under 5 messy play class, and youth club, helping to ensure events run smoothly and occasionally doing character work at events/ parties.
Skills
My confidence has developed in this role, through taking on more responsibility in a management role, engaging with the community, and entertaining at a high standard. I have developed on existing, and learned new IT/admin skills, these include using new software such as canva for marketing and xero accounting to create quotes/ invoices. I have developed my problem solving abilities and ability to maintain calm and positive under pressure and in unforeseen circumstances.
Responsibilities
Yes I was given quite a lot of responsibility during my internship which was a little daunting at first however I think this has been beneficial as I have developed my skills to a greater extent because of this.
Support & Guidance
I had a great management team to support me throughout my internship, they were very understanding and always encouraged me to ask for guidance or help if I needed it. This allowed me to feel more at ease in my new position and work to the best of my ability as the work environment is very supportive. After I had received my initial training I often worked independently throughout my internship.
