Overview
Depending on the day, I would spend most of the day editing articles or building cruise packages to load onto the website and updating the Top 10 packages. During November/December I would also be creating images, email headers, social media posts and email campaigns for the CTN/Fred Olsen advent calendar.
Skills
Developed a lot of skills, including editing, and learnt email marketing campaigns, how to use Canva to make animations and a lot of production-based skills
Responsibilities
I was given a good amount, especially towards the end of my internship when the team knew my strengths and I was often given a lot of packages to build so the marketing team could focus on other tasks as well
Support & Guidance
I was given a lot - both in-person and via Teams. Once I was more comfortable with the team, I was better able to ask for advice and support.
Culture
Amazing. Everyone was so nice and welcoming, and the vibe of the office was really fun. It was an enjoyable place to work with great people to work with. 10/10 would recommend.
Your Impressions
I very much enjoyed it. There were elements I disliked, but they were out of the company's control (public transport). The people were amazing and I learned a lot of skills. I would love to return to the company after I graduate if they would have me back.
Yes
Go for it and don't be afraid to ask questions. I was quite lucky a few of us lived in the same area so I was able to get the trains back with them most days, but if you're concerned, talk to the team there. The work I did was great fun and really played to my strengths in writing, and surprisingly, administration. Some elements I struggled with at first, but with time I got better.
