Overview
I researched ways of integrating SDGs 1, 14 and 15 into Asset Management, including in specific industries. I would also prepare a few slides to present a summary of my research to my team members and supervisor.
Skills
I have strengthened my communication and research skills, and developed my presentation and time management skills throughout the internship.
Responsibilities
I felt that I was given the right amount of responsability, and I felt I had the space to make mistakes and to ask others for help.
Support & Guidance
Every week our supervisor checked in on my team members and I to see the progress on our individual research, and he would always give us feedback or advice. He also understood that Asset Management was a new concept to us and was happy to explain something to us when needed. I personally felt like I had the space to make mistakes and to ask for help.
Culture
Everyone was very kind, welcoming and happy to help with tasks or answer questions we had. I can't think of a better company culture than the one I experienced this summer during my first job experience.
Your Impressions
I loved every aspect of the placement like working with my team members, researching on SDGs etc. I did feel a bit overwhelmed at first because Asset Management was a very new concept for me so it took me a lot of research to understand it, but I managed to adapt.
Yes
We all start somewhere. Since this internship was my first job experience, I felt underqualified compared to my team members, but my research turnt out great. My team members even told me I gave good presentations, which really surprised me because I have never been good at giving presentations. I would say don't be afraid to ask for help, and remember that, again, we all start somewhere and it is normal to make mistakes!
