  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Responsible for collecting, processing, and performing statistical analyses on large datasets. I analyse model performance, do software development and do data science. i also prepare documents and slides to share this with the company and enable them with the developed technology.

  • I have learnt a lot about the Data science and MLOps process and my coding ability has really been developed. I also have been able to learn more about the energy industry and how it runs.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Originally, it was low risk tasks but as I have developed and learnt more, i have much more important tasks on live models which i am given and will handle mainly by myself.

  • I have biweekly check-ins with members of my team. A morning stand up every day. A 1-2-1 with my manager every fortnight. A wider team meeting with our manager every week. And a 1-2-1 for development twice a week.

  • This is the friendliest company i have ever worked with and I have really felt like I have found a place to belong here.

  • I have really enjoyed this placement. it may have just redirected my career path after giving me a taste of what it has to off. i also have the opportunity to work with lots of very cool technologies and software.
