Overview
In my role, I perform electrical calculations, install and test components, and design control systems. I provide technical support, troubleshoot electrical components, reconfigure panels, and use PLC and LabVIEW software to develop control systems. These tasks involve diagnosing issues, ensuring optimal configurations, and leveraging advanced tools. This diverse range of responsibilities keeps my work engaging and impactful, contributing to project efficiency and reliability while providing hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology.
Skills
I am currently on a LabVIEW training course (Core 2) after completing Core 1, both sponsored by AWE. I had some experience with LabVIEW, but this training has significantly boosted my knowledge. I have received certifications for these courses and also completed NX and Teamcenter training. The company offers multiple training opportunities, allowing me to learn new skills and develop my existing ones, enhancing my technical abilities and professional growth.
Responsibilities
During my placement, I was given meaningful responsibilities, including opportunities to deliver presentations. These experiences allowed me to develop my communication and presentation skills in a supportive environment. The tasks were manageable and helped me grow professionally without feeling overwhelmed. This balance of responsibility and support made my placement both challenging and rewarding, providing a great learning experience.
Support & Guidance
I received great support and guidance during my placement. I worked in a supportive team with a very helpful line manager who was always available to provide assistance and advice. This supportive environment made it easy to ask questions and seek help when needed, ensuring that I could learn and grow throughout my placement. The guidance I received was invaluable in helping me develop my skills and confidence.
Culture
The company culture and general atmosphere were very friendly and welcoming. Everyone was approachable and willing to help, creating a supportive environment. This positive atmosphere made it easy to integrate into the team and feel comfortable asking questions or seeking guidance.
Your Impressions
I am currently still on my placement, and I am finding it to be a good experience. It has provided me with valuable hands-on opportunities to develop my skills. The supportive team and friendly environment have made it enjoyable and educational. This placement is helping me build confidence and contribute to the projects I am working on. Overall, it has been a positive and rewarding experience so far.
